In 2008, Mitch Berliner founded Central Farm Markets with his Debra Moser. The first market, Bethesda Central Farm Market, began in a small parking lot with 17 vendors. Today, Central Farm Markets has three farm markets in Maryland and DC. The organization’s mission is to provide a professionally managed community venue where customers can purchase high quality, locally grown fresh and prepared food, and to support agricultural innovation, green practices, and sustainability. In addition, Mitch has been involved with numerous philanthropic organizations, including Bethesda Green, Bender Jewish Community Center, and the Jean-Louis Palladin Foundation. He has also served on the fundraising committee of The Washington Capital Area Food Bank
