Meet James Brewster: From Entertaining Boys to Honoring First Responders. 10/1

President of J2B Publishing, an indie press dedicated to publishing and the author of the successful Glad To Do It! Wharton Club members and guests are invited!

author-photo-5-cropped--002-James Burd Brewster is the president of J2B Publishing, an indie press dedicated to publishing “Enjoyable Poetry” and “Good Books for Young Boys and Girls,” and the author of the successful Glad To Do It! series of children’s picture books (GladToDoIt.net) which show first responders as the public servants they are.

The seeds of his writing career were sown when he entertained his two oldest boys (5 and 3 at the time) with fireman stories. The seeds became plants during a creative writing class taken at the College of Southern Maryland in 2012 whose fruit to date is twenty-one Uncle Rocky - Fireman, Officer Jack, and EMT Morales picture books that honor public service and have kids and parents saying, “Glad to do it!”

His work has been accepted for the Baltimore Book Festival, Gaithersburg Book Festival, and the College Park Book Festival. He is a regular presenter at homeschool conferences and writer’s clubs in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virgina, Ohio, and South Carolina. He has given his presentation on writing and publishing children’s books to standing room only crowds. He is a member of the Maryland Writers Association and is a past member of the Rotary Club of Charles County (La Plata).
