Meet Rachel Lanman and Collen Kemp, Opening Minds through Art 7/30

Rachel Lanman and Collen Kemp talk about Creative Expression and Intergenerational Connections with Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) Wharton Club members and guests are invited!


Rachel Lanmunnamedan, Senior Program Coordinator at the JCA Heyman Interages Center, has led intergenerational programs, building community and fostering collaboration across generations for over five years. She has a Master of Music in Music Education and loves to nurture connections through various art forms and hands-on experiences.

Colleen Kemp is the director of the JCA Gorlitz Kensington Clubs and helped to expand this unique program to underserved areas of the county. She holds a B.S. in Recreation Therapy from Missouri State University. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a Certified Recreation Therapist (CTRS) through the National Council Therapeutic Recreation Council since 1992. With her leadership, in 2021, the Kensington Club@ Home, a virtual program from 2020 to 202, won the Leading Age Maryland Excellence in Innovation Award. She currently serves on both the Montgomery County Age-Friendly Health and Wellness and Dementia-Friendly Committee.
