AAFSW: Music and Theater Around the World 5/12
Theater Around the World features countries from different regions around the world. Speakers will include cultural attaches or representatives from those countries to offer remarks about theatre in their area. Wharton Club members and guests are invited.
The Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide (AAFSW) in collaboration with Jan Du Plain, Founder board member of the Washington Educational and Cultural Attaché Association (WECAA), an organization for cultural and educational attaches invite you to a mesmerizing program “Music and Theater Around the World” on Friday, May 12th at 11:00 am at the Dean Acheson auditorium in the State Department.
Rafael Javadov, a world class violinist, will present a visual tour supported by musical excerpts of regions around the world.
The music will be selected from countries that will be featured in a slide show. These visuals will show a musical composition made up of a series of short pieces. Rafael will play –a medley of music from around the world–a diverse assortment or mixture of sounds featuring the cultural elements along with the musical genre of the continents and regions–this selected music will include Asia, Africa, North America, Caribbean, South America, Europe, and the Middle East.

Registration required with birth date, Driver’s License or Passport, as per State Dept. requirements.

Tickets are available for purchase below for $15 (final cost includes a small processing fee).
