Dr. Vickers will join us for a discussion on how to address and remove inequities in cancer screening, treatment, and outcomes.
BIO:
Selwyn M. Vickers, M.D., FACS, is the President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He assumed the role on September 19, 2022.
Dr. Vickers is an internationally recognized pancreatic cancer surgeon, pancreatic cancer researcher, and pioneer in health disparities research. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Society of Scholars. He has served on the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Board of Trustees and the Johns Hopkins University Board of Trustees. Also, he has served as President of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and the Southern Surgical Association. Dr. Vickers is the immediate past president of the American Surgical Association, and he continues to see patients.
