Many things are changing in Italian right now, especially among young people. What are we talking about, and in what tones? The Italian sociolinguist Vera Gheno paints a picture of the current situation.
Vera Gheno, sociolinguist, collaborated with the Accademia della Crusca for 20 years. He taught under contract at the University of Florence for 18 years; since September 2021 she has been a researcher at the same institution. In 2022 he publishes “Call me this way. Normality, diversity and all the words in between ”(Il Margine), his eleventh monograph.
Vera Gheno, translator from Hungarian and popularizer, collaborated for twenty years with the Accademia della Crusca and for four years with the Zanichelli publishing house.
He taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Florence for 18 years; since September 2021 she has been a type A researcher at the same institution.
His first monograph is from 2016: “A practical guide to written Italian (without becoming a grammarian)”; of 2017 is “Social-linguistics. Italian and Italians of social networks ”(both for Franco Cesati Editore).
In 2018 she was co-author of “Keep it on. Post, comment, share without turning off your brain ”(Longanesi). In 2019 he published “Power to words. Why use them better "(Einaudi)," The degree thesis.
