SWS Fund |
SWS Fund was established to raise money and to distribute it to teachers at the Seattle World School, whose student population is primarily refugees and immigrants from Central America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia for whom English is not their primary language. Because the students either do not have parents here or because their parents are not well off, there is no PTA to raise money for basic and supplementary materials to help the students. Thus far we have raised money for computers, field trips, printers, art supplies, and for pencils. There is more need than we have been able to meet. We also need more tutors to assist in the classroom, an incredibly rewarding experience, whether one is there for 2 hours a week or 20. |
