Alumni and Friends of the LSE
in the United States

The AFLSE has long been dependent on dues-paying members to support its operations, but, with the onset of the digital age, paid membership organizations have struggled. In 2019, the LSE Foundation in New York generously agreed to assist the AFLSE with our administrative needs so that we could continue to do what we do best - serve the LSE alumni community in the US. Now that the transition to this new working model is complete, the AFLSE no longer charges membership dues.  All alumni in the US are automatically members.

Thanks to this arrangement and our network of volunteers, AFLSE can continue to support US alumni and our 18 city chapters without membership dues. We look forward to providing the same great events, networking opportunities and services that have made AFLSE a vibrant hub for alumni activity.

Thanks to everyone for their generosity for the past 50 years; without it we would not be here today. And thanks to more than 350 alumni who donated additional funds for a "life membership" in the AFLSE. Your generous support was key to AFLSE’s growth.

2020 marked the 50th anniversary of the Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics in the United States and the 125th anniversary of LSE. While celebrations have been curtailed or postponed, we'll all be together soon to make new friendships and reconnect with old mates.
